My work focuses on community development through strengthening school-university-community partnerships. I encourage critical analyses of media representations of groups and individuals and their effects on public perceptions. My scholarship has emphasized research on relationships between spirituality and civic engagement and on how church participation can enhance leadership development among diverse populations.

8.15.8  Dr. Reyes will be featured in the "Conversation with the Authors" portion of the NAME Conference in New Orleans this coming November 12th through the 16th. You can register for the conference here. The conference will take place at the Sheraton New Orleans Hotel.
8.1.8  Dr. Reyes' website is now fully accessible in Spanish, some portions of the Spanish pages might be an English for a number of different reasons, e.g., a mailing address is best kept in English in order to make sure it arrives in time and without complications.

6.26.8  Dr. Reyes will be making a presentation at the Latino Studies Retreat, at Central Connecticut State University on Friday, June 27, 2008.  The presentation will take place at the Student Center from 9.00am to 1.00pm.
6.26.8  J.C. Aguayo, who has worked with Dr. Reyes on the Hispanic Health Council has launched a new website on his Fine Art and Custom Art Work.
